I was lucky enough to watch 2 adult Blue Jays build their nest over the last few months, feed their fledglings for a few weeks and then watch them leave the nest just yesterday. I watched as the fledglings would try to fly from branch to branch, their little wings not strong enough to go very far. They are gone now, having made it to several trees away from their initial home. I am sad to see them go but it was fun to watch them grow.
